Art Paris Art Fair

We would be delighted to welcome you in our stand at Salon Art Paris Art Fair, which will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris from Wednesday, March 29 until Sunday, April 2 2017. We will present a solo exhibit of Max B., a highly prolific and very secretive painter who has lived over the past four decades isolated from the world in his XVIIth cc. atelier-home, located in the South of France.

A stranger to the public at large, Max B.’s work is very highly praised by collectors. He is an artist who defies classification: he himself does not claim ties with any particular movement. Born in Marseille, he began to paint his first canvases on bed sheets at age ten. At barely 14, he entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Marseille. His painting, filled with obsessive doodles, elusive symbols, faces and geometric shapes, is considered to be in line within the Neo Expresionist movement and with the work of subsequent generations of painters like Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The work of Max B. is present in numerous private collections in New York, Miami, Puerto Rico, London, Japan, Russia, Australia, Mexico and France.

Art 2 Go

A non-profit organization started by 2 SJS Juniors to bring art to pediatric hospital patients cross Puerto Rico

Last night, Thursday, October 20, 2016, DL Art Gallery hosted a charity event to raise funds for Art2Go, a non-profit organization started by two S St. John’s School Juniors in order to bring art to pediatric hospital patients across Puerto Rico.

As part of the fund raising efforts, Art2Go organized a raffle for an oil painting created collaboratively by art students from St. John’s, while DL Art Gallery donated 10% of the proceedings from all gallery sales during the event. There was also music performances during the evening by three very talented St. John’s students: a violin soloist and a voice and guitar duet.

Beauty, generosity and solidarity is also what art is all about. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who came to the activity and to congratulate Art2Go for the wonderful work they do..
